What Size Shed is Right for Me?
With so many different size sheds to choose from, it can be difficult to decide what size is the best for you. While buying a larger shed may cost more, you will learn that it is the best idea for the long term. If you buy a shed that is too small, you will end up not getting the best value for your dollar. We are here to make your decision easier.
City Requirements
Before you make any purchasing decisions, consult your local building inspector to see if there are any limitations to storage buildings such as height, types of foundation and building codes. If an inspector determines your storage shed is not meeting requirements, you will have to move the shed to another area. That will only cost you more.
How BIG or small is your Yard?
The size of your yard is crucial in determining which shed to buy. After all, you do not want to buy a shed that takes up more than half your backyard. We require that the foundation of your shed to be placed at a minimum of three feet away from privacy fencing, trees and other objects.
If you want to buy a shed to get more space in your garage, arrange your tools and equipment in a circle and measure them while they are still in the garage. This will give you an estimate of how much space you will need inside your shed. Make sure you add extra space for walking!
What Items are you going to Store Inside your Shed?
Make a list of what you’re going to store inside your shed. Remember that you will collect more tools and equipment over the years and will need even more storage space. As children grow, so will your collection of toys and equipment. We suggest buying a shed that is one size larger than what you think you will need. While larger buildings cost more, buying a shed that is too small for your needs may cause you to regret your purchasing decision later.

Need More Storage Space? Add a Shelf or Workbench
You can buy optional accessories, such as shelves or workbenches, to add more space inside your shed. Shelves allow you to organize your shed neatly and keep tools out of your walkway. Workbenches are used to keep items off the floor and as a table to complete wood working and gardening projects.
